An argument against Roof Top Tents

Somehow I doubt that cost less than $800(the price of said quad) but to get back on topic most people making arguments against RTT are not suggesting moving to a teardrop, they suggest moving to a ground tent setup because they are looking in the same price category not several thousand dollars...

An argument against Roof Top Tents

Not everyone has $40,000 to throw at a dedicated trailer. Besides I’ve yet to see a teardrop that can accommodate a full-size Fourwheeler(ATV/Quad) in the storage cabinet. Lol.

An argument against Roof Top Tents

My two cents is everybody who makes these videos tends to copy/paste their view points, I have seen 4 videos that title and run over the exact same points. The issue is all these points can be avoided by moving the tent from the roof to a trailer. I’ve got mine bolted to a rack on a $600 harbor...

Why are there so few Silverado overland rigs?

The biggest issue I run into with my 96 GMC K1500 is the IFS and Torsion Bar suspension compounded by the weak GM8.25 front differential. Newer GM trucks solved this with a more modern suspension system but those trucks are ridiculously expensive. The Torsion bar system is a bitch to lift...

Jeep JK Overlanding Lifts, Suspension, and Tires

Stay far away from Body lifts. Ive never seen one work or last without tearing out body mounts. You get short term gains and long term structural damage. They are fone for mall crawlers but if you ever plan to see dirt and rock just do yourself a favor and spring for the extra few inches in...

Help me decide what size lift/tires for f150

Personally I'd do a 4inch with 33s to maintain flex while keeping better angles and a lower center of gravity Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

Anyone reduce the lift on your vehicle?

You only loose ground clearence with tires. You may loose some articulation and gain some tire scrub. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

Trail Rig & Daily Driver Communications

Modifying the radio is not illegal. Nor is using it. The only thing illegal is setting the transmit above 4 watts. So long as any radio is broadcasting the correct frequency at the correct wattage is federally legal. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

Trail Rig & Daily Driver Communications

I won't argue with you that its technically illegal. But realisticly Citizen band laws are not enforced any longer in the US, Haven't been since the late nineties. Anyone who spends as much time listening to the CB as I do Will tell you that the FCC does not monitor citizens band any longer...

Trail Rig & Daily Driver Communications

Also look into 10Meter ham radios which can be expanded to CB range. On of my favorites is the Stryker 94HPC its small and puts out 40watts of power and is capable of both CB 11M as well as expanded 10M bands. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

Trail Rig & Daily Driver Communications

GMRS and ham are the same thing. They run on the same meter band Ham is just an expanded licence to include more frequency range. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

    OB emblems Oxidizing

My recommendation would be after applying it to the vehicle lay down a layer of clear coat to seal off the oxygen Or have future badges coated in a clear ceramic Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

    2WD

I agree if off roading is a known factor always spring for the 4wd even just having a single front tire pulling can change the dynamic of a trail difficulty and line setup. As far as videos go i am at the mercy of youtubers lol but i did see an intresting video of a lightly modified Subaru sedan...

    2WD

Not really to anyone who understands the basic fuction of a differential, a standard 4wd with open diffs at any given moment will only put power to a maximum of two wheels while 4wd is engaged, more specificly they will only supply power to 1 wheel per axle with the the least amount of traction...

    New here from western Ky

Hows it going, i got into overlanding as an extention of my other two hobbies, 4wheeling and survival prepping. I started out trying to come up with a good twist on a BOV (bug out vehicle) that was dual purpose and still comfortable and along the way i ran into the overlanding comunity. I...
