Hello all,
Here is an Overlander that you will not see everywhere! My Gilig Bus. This was a transit bus for the City of Tacoma, WA. 28’ long, 3108 Cat v8/ Allison automatic. Same wheel base as a Chevy dually crew cab. 6 miles to the gallon. This bus has been all over Alaska and used to pull a...
Thought this might help someone else out if you need to replace springs on this generation F-150. Jeff’s Bronco Graveyard, in Michigan, USA. Has more than just OEM springs. There is a 6 leaf rear spring from a 96’ 4x4 Bronco that will fit a 96’ 4x4 F-150, with 3” wide springs and the 150 4 or 3...
Welcome and congratulations on a great looking Jeep! I know there are people all the time looking for someone to wheel with, do some adventures with.. OB should have a rep. Over that side of the state. Should be able to give you a heads up on advents in you area? Just start going and doing trips...
Think mac & cheese, hamburger helper, Rice-A-Roni, oatmeal, Cream of wheat, Instant mashed potatoes, Cold cereal and even milk will keep for a few days if cool along with the package of frozen vegetables with the regular again to help keep things cool? Fresh fruits, and vegetables, nuts crackers...
Think what you have going on with this build will be a fun project! Just so you know, those International V8s, have a higher Nickel content in the blocks, making a long lasting and worth while opinion of rebuilding the stock motor? I was impressed with my 345 and what it would do! Vance.

I will have to keep an Eye and keep watching this thread! I know where a 70’ 4x4 Travelall, body and front axle only, front end complete, no motor/ trans/ transfer case, or rear end. And title! Who am I kidding? I better just watch your project!Vance.
Go for the traction aid now! Good time to do bearings too and seals. Never do a temporary job. It becomes permanent tell it fails! While you are in the rear end why not? Vance.
Bought this One owner, 96’ F-150 302/ auto, 4x4 super cab, short box, recently. Stock 15” wheel with 31x10.50 LT Nokia’s All-terrain’s. I have some uni-strut, that I bought to make a frame to mount my RTT, just high enough to have room for my slide out 12 VDC refrigerator. Oh and take off the...
I use snow chains, in snow. But in mud as a last resort. Sand, Mud, Taction mats ( boards) make the job easier to get unstuck successfully. All of the above, a winch helps too! Vance.
My advice to all the above responses is this. Take your bride with you when you check out any vehicle. If she is happy, you and life will be happy! Vance.
rho,
Did you see the latest video by 4wd 24/7 ? Washing and cleaning up your vehicle after wheeling is a good way to start the “inspection” of your ride. Taking a paint pen or even permanent marker and marking all the nuts helps to spot loosening of things too. I should do a better job of...
So, far for me the best setup is my Dodge Pickup and my Alaskan pop up Camper! No problems with the wind, no problems putting the top down to travel when things are wet or frozen. Have a nice vented propane heater when cold. And a nice comfortable almost King size bed. With the camper top down...
It nice there are so many options now out there. I like the one zone refrigerator/freezer best for my use. If I need both frozen foods and fresh, I do this. I set my fridge/ freezer set on freeze. Freeze one gallon jug of water and use that jug of Ice in my Canyon cooler to keep the contents...
