And it's not about bashing people for having differing opinions. Some people don't really get that, or the ability to have civil discourse and disagreement.

Speaking of being defensive, you should take a step back and re-read the things you've said, and the fact you just spent all of that time quoting several of my posts that had nothing to do with you.

Closer to the wheel isn't bad, but that's not the case with the Colorado like it is with the Jeep due to the different suspension setup. As I said before, if not for that it'd be much more desirable for its intended capability (off road). This isn't a complete killer, but it's not helping it...

So what you're saying is, what I'm saying are opinions but what you're saying are facts? So you use the word "feel" but quote it as a fact.... How is that quantifiable? And you end that whole statement with "...wasn't a good fit for ME." Just as you stated, many tall people drive Tacomas, just...

I have to disagree on two points. I'm 6'3" tall and the Tacoma fit is just fine. I haven't driven the Colorado but I have ridden in one and they definitely had a different feel, but the Tacoma is just fine, you just have to accept it's a shallower floor pan. On the smooth ride, my Tacoma was...

I think you misunderstood my point about Toyota having a diesel. If the Tacoma had a diesel, people wanting the option wouldn't buy the Chevy. I've personally spoken to more than half a dozen owners of a Colorado who went Chevy for the diesel powerplant and for no other reason, so call that...

I don't own the company, Toyota, so I don't care. Do you understand context of speech, because I had 3 people read what I said and they all understood I was making reference to the company. I didn't say, "I don't own A Toyota" I said "I don't own Toyota".

Calling me a fanboy and accusing me of making negative comments, that's attacking. You didn't answer me, what experience do you have with either vehicle? You haven't refuted anything I've said, merely called me a fanboy and dismissed my opinion and accuse me of just making negative comments like...

You do realize you're attacking me now for just giving an informed opinion based upon what I've seen on the trail right? How much experience do you have with either vehicle on the trail?

Ground clearance is more than just a number. Example, a 79 Series Land Cruiser has an offset diff housing, so you can align obstacles in order to clear that gap without hanging up or getting damage. The Tacoma has a centrally located diff, so same thing, just a smaller gap to align with. The...

If I remember correctly it did the Rubicon, with full support and a professional driver. Hell a Kia Sorrento did Hells Gate with a professional driver and PLENTY of built vehicles have failed that being driven by amateurs or weekend warriors, does that mean that a Sorrento is more capable? Not...

2018 TRD pro VS 2018 Chevy ZR2 for overlanding

I own a 2013 Toyota Tacoma Limited DCLB. I would prefer a diesel, I would've preferred lockers, but so far I've done fine without. I've been on trials with 2 diesel ZR2's so far, and they both got hung up on obstacles I didn't that required them to use a locker or two while I don't even have one...

WARNING!!! PELFREYBILT MAY BE IN TROUBLE....UPDATED ...FILED BANKRUPTCY!!!!

This is absolutely sickening. There are people who paid CASH two days before they filed bankruptcy and the Pelfreys accepted their money. There are many people completely out the money they paid, either cash, ACH, or with credit card companies telling them to kick rocks. I was a proud supporter...

    Solar Setup

Flipper is pretty much on point here with choices, price, and assessment of needs. You need to decide on a fridge first, IMO, then you will know what your power needs will really be. I built mine from my Dometic CFX-50, did some testing, lots of math, and decided on 2 x 100aH AGM batteries in...

Thoughts on Tacoma tires and lift

Regardless of lift, a cab mount chop is required to fit 33" tires. I have a 275/70 R17 and didn't have to do it on my 2.5" OME lift. I didn't do it to fit bigger tires as much as I did it for the offroad performance upgrade. The increase in travel is substantial, which is why mid/long travel is...

    2018 Colorado ZR2

That looks pretty good! Is that Colorado specific or adapted from the Tacoma model? I really like mine, you might want to look into upgrading the bolts that hold in the crossbars from the sides. I've had two shear the heads off when loosening them after one year.

100w Renogy Solar Panel added, tilt to 45 degrees with gas struts courtesy of Clint Hughes! I have to rearrange the crossbars a bit to mount a couple of other things but it should all work very well in the end!!

Clint, I just wanted to tell you thanks on the solar panel setup advice! That definitely made for a great solution to mounting my panel in an accessible position. I'm placing an order with Mcmaster Carr right now for some plastic thumb nuts to replace the wing nuts and finish it off. I added a...
