No, I have standard spring suspension. I think Rocky Road outfitters is working on a 2" lift for quadralift, and it will be the first one that I know of.
A lot of people ask me what Directive 51 means, and why I decided to use the name. I was a bit of a prepper before Tom Clancy's The Division came out. I am a big fan of overlanding and airsoft, because they are fun, but also because they are great practice for SHTF scenarios. That said, I loved...
You absolutely can use your WK2 as an overland vehicle. It is extremely capable, it just depends on what you are wanting to do with it. Just some light exploring and camping and you would be fine. I've built mine up a bit, but I dont think I would take it rock crawling. I have not had any issues...
Thanks guys.
Thanks. No, it isnt wired up yet. My sPod came in last week, and I am waiting to install my Rigid Industries back up lights before I wire everything up.
It really doesnt effect the ride at all. You just notice that you see more hood. I will be installing an OME 2" lift in the next...
More Updates.
ExtremeLED 40" lightbar has been installed. I still need to install the Rigid Industries reverse lights into the rear bumper, and then I will wire everything up to the sPod. I also got the Frontrunner Maxtrax mount and Rotopax mounts installed.
After a few months, my drawer...
Its been a while since I updated this.
Added Anzo LED headlights and Chief Products lower protection plate and sump protection plate a week or so ago. Then I installed a frontrunner outfitters slimeline roof platform. My drawer system is being made right now and should be delivered by the end...
So it looks like we have enough interest to go ahead and start planning. Is July too hot, or should we just try to plan it for the beginning of August?
Thanks man. I just ordered my drawer system for the cargo area, and I have quite a few more additions that I am planning. I have been looking at Chief products, as a really want a hidden winch mount eventually.
Loving your build so far. I went with the WK2 because I manage the marketing for a Jeep dealership, but after seeing yours and other 4Runner builds, it makes me wish I worked for a Toyota dealership.
Hey everyone,
I have this posted in the facebook page, but I thought I should probably post it here as well. I moved to Alabama a few months ago, and while I have found some trails, I thought I would gauge the interest in hosting a Rigs & Coffee. Clanton is pretty centralized, and I have a...
Hell yeah. This is my second one and I love it. They are capable, roomy, and IMO one of the best looking SUV's out there.
Dirt roads and tropical depressions.
