Another overlander told me Wildrose Road is closed. They got past the first gate, but had to turn around at the second gate which cost them three hours of wasted time and frustration. This impacts the trip route. I think the canyn section of the road is closed, so we can't go from the Wildrose...
Made my own JK limb risers. Went to Lowes and spent $22 on parts. For the hood latch tab, I used a steel plate from a large U-bolt. The cable was clear vinyl covered 3/16" aircraft cable. Grabbed some lockable links to allow for disconnecting the limb risers. Added the cable clamps and aluminum...
Not going to pull punches folks, the weather will suck. Off and on rain, followed by rain/snow/cold. I'm still going, but I understand if others bail out. I could use company of course, but if it's a solo trip...so be it.
If you do go, bring wet weather gear and appropriate shoes that can...
Roll call, who's going and on what day/time? I'm heading up Fri morning from the south bay.
Once I get a roll call, we can start a private convo to exchange names and cell phones.

I expect snow on the ground, but with all the rain it could get muddy/slushy. Unfortunately, it's going to rain on us Fri/Sat. At night, it might get cold enough to lightly snow...
You should have a battery isolator switch to protect your starter battery. That way, when the the voltage hits a certain threhold on the main starter battery, it switches to your auxilliary battery and will allow you to run that one to zero while protecting the main battery.
Next weekend, Fri-Sun at Pinnacle Rock in Mendocino forest.

This community is strong. Our ethos is noble and validated. I don't think anything that fake idiot said, posted, commented, or otherwise has an impact on any of us or what we do. He's essentially irrelevant and his arguments have no merit. I didn't know about this fake guy until Michael posted...
Hell yes brother! Come on out. Fri night through Sun noon camp trip. Prepare for some light snow. Dress accordingly. Bring water, food, alcohol (if so inclined), and whatever else you need. I bring a lot, so I can cover some needs but not all. I'm leaving for the site Fri late morning before...
