If I ever had to walk away from the Wrangler platform...I would look very hard at a 4x4 van, something similar to "Primal Outdoors" on YouTube, or a Subaru Outback or Forester. Also like the Land Rovers, but I don't know how reliable they are.

My buddy and I are going, but camping up in the mountains. Getting there Wednesday, camping in a different spot each night. Expo on Friday...maybe Saturday.

On a past overland trip to Colorado, we had a bear try getting into our cooler. We left the coolers outside the Jeeps overnight. I have seen anti bear food vaults, and understand the idea. My question is, do we need to empty our refrigerators that are in the vehicles too?

Thanks for all the help. The first night we stayed near Colorado Springs on Hermon Road. Beautiful camping spot, however, we almost had a catastrophic failure of the roof rack and RTT. We didn't get into camp until well after dark. We spent the next day fixing the issues, then headed way...
