There are several trails that have conflicting information. We went down a few last trip that we’re supposed to be open that ended up being overgrown to the point of being closed. If there is a ramp involved I would guess it’s open.
@Ronin1057 and @Sjo527 There are a ton of trails that have easy parts that lead into very tricky ones. 300 level will provide the most challenge typically. It also depends on rain and usage. 375 gets a lot of Jeep runs so it tends to be really rutted. Our last trip through there (behind two...
We’ll be at Brimstone. I’ll either be on a yellow Suzuki 400 or one of their side-by-sides. If you’ll be out there we’d love to run with a local. We’ve never been there. Looks like my truck isn’t allowed on their trails so, it’s been awhile in the making to get out there.
I don’t think there’s anything other than general camping and wheeling common sense. Don’t drive through someone’s site, that kind of thing, lol. When we’re exploring we walk the trails if it starts looking iffy. Unless you’re @4runnerteq then you just launch yourself over a hill and hope for...
I have the $3 kit from the dollar store. Mesh bag, high lipped plate, reusable fork/knife/spoon and a collapsible cup. It doesn’t have the insulation or lids but I usually pack my raw foods in containers like that and can be used for food storage. Insulation never seemed to cross my mind.
I’ve also been considering an RTT but I have a family of 4 and a 65 lb dog who would whine until we brought him up. I also hadn’t considered how it would effect drivability as mentioned above. I don’t suppose anyone has any suggestions? I would also consider a teardrop and rtt. Maybe.
Their Instagram account said the camping was closed until April 16th. That was posted 3/22/2020. The General Store and camping parts are closed, but the security checkpoints and trails are still open. TN State parks are still open as of right now.
That's awesome that you got to do that today! That is a lesson for me to see with my own eyes versus rumors. May be I hit that up tomorrow. May be I'll catch some of y'all out there? *wink wink, nudge nudge*
LOL! I was still driving the stock Xterra on that trip and she did fine. No winching necessary. The only reason I've needed a winch was the Raptor bellied out two trips ago. I think our crew does a great job of scouting trails.
