Xventure trailer uses gas struts to assist in the lifting Im using the same I have bought struts that pick up 75lbs each so in theory the rack and tent could weigh 300lbs

I have the 3500 hd long spindle witch is a 5600 axle stubs. I only had the option to run a 6 bolt or an 8 bolt pattern with this. I should have gone with the 2800 hd long spindle then I could have matched the bolt pattern of my jeep. Take a look at their website and call the tech line they...

I built this as a dual purpose trailer. I only have a jeep and a vw jetta so went I need a pickup the rack comes off the trailer and I haul stuff for the yard or other projects with it other wise it would have been a bit smaller. There will also be 2 Kayaks hanging from the rack as well
Yes it goes up and down about 18" if I want it that high. I'm using gas struts to do the lifting, each on will pick up around 75- 100 lbs all combined it should pick up 300 - 400 lbs all together. I'll try to get pics up soon. As for the suspension they are timbren axle-less trailer...
6 volt in series is 12 volts but the 6vt will last longer than a single 12vt. For the posts for the rack are 2x1x1/8 wall and I had some 10ga formed for the outer posts. Take a look a the xventure trailer. This is what I based my build on
