Battery died (I guess the winch and other stuff killed it). But just an excuse to upgraaaaade! Got the Optima yellow top H7. He’s a biiiig boy, but I got him in there!
Also just turned over 55k miles. Woohoo! MPG was on the low side in the photo because I was suffering from a bit of lead foot...
Oh man that looks like fun! We bought a 2003 on eBay back in 2011 – same color as yours. Had low miles, but I think it was used as a delivery vehicle or something because it has many issues and was really beat up. I fixed it up and we drove it for years. Never bought another car on eBay though...
Installed the Rhino Rack Backbone system and the Pioneer Platform a couple weeks ago. Also needed the Maximus-3 sat antenna relocation kit, as the rack was blocking the signal. Both installs were a huge PITA, but I am very glad they are done.
Here are a few photos from a trip I took into NE...
Had a very frustrating experience with the "Tire Experts" who have been rotating all 5 of my tires for a while now. Basically, they refused to rotate in the spare on my brand new set of tires because of some reason that was indiscernible.
After a short discussion, the manager suggest I provide...
Tires are performing really well, so smooth and quiet, but really do dig through some gnarly mud. I'm happy with them so far!
Also added the BedRug headliner kit. Was super easy to install and really does cut down on the noise inside the cab. Conversations inside the Jeep on the highway are...
With almost 40k on the Jeep, the MT tires were getting pretty wompy. Sooo, I found some Mojave take-offs. Got the wheels and tires for pretty cheap. Had less than 100 miles on them, and they are 285/70/17. Rides so much better now. Waiting on the spare wheel and tire to be delivered now. I think...
Thought I'd update this thread with what I've done to the Jeep over the past year. I've done all the work myself, in my driveway.
GMRS and CB Radios
GMRS is this neat bundle from Cool Tech LLC. Would highly recommend it, as it has everything you need. Comes with the MXT275, and all the mounts...
I posted this thread like five years ago. It's a good chunk of the Traverse. Kind of a horseshoe, but I cleaned up the original Traverse files and posted them there. I'm gonna do the route again in the next month or so to see how the route files have help up over five years.
Hey y'all, been a while since I've been on here. I had a Tacoma that I was building up, but sold it and I've been driving a Crosstrek for the past four years or so. Wanted something a little bigger and more capable, so the other day I went out and bought a new 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Willys...
Thanks fellas!
They ride really well. On road I can't tell much difference. But off road, I feel like they go over rocky stuff a lot smoother than the stock ones.
I was able to check another item off the list. I installed a Cobra 75 WX ST CB radio, along with a 3' Firestik FireFly mounted on a Firestik fender mount. I used a 9' FireRing cable, and I ran the power straight to the battery. Kind of annoying having to turn it off, but they say it has less...
Thanks guys!
Holy moly, that's exactly what it was! I'm dying! :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy: I deleted the original photo from my IG. I'll probably remove it from here too. It was so bad. Couldn't believe they thought it was ok.
Also, I've since (several months ago – oops) added OME 885 coils and...
Last weekend after doing the Tennessee Dirt Devil group ride with Earthbound Overland. We had a great time. Got down to 44 overnight, but it was still super fun. :relaxed::relaxed:
