Need help choosing my first set of AT tires!

Wow. Your pilot looks great! Do you have a link for the lift? I couldnt find it right off the bat.

Odd Ball rigs. Who else has an outside of the norm rig?

Odd ball rigs eh? I softroad/overland my 2004 honda pilot. There’s a handful of us who do this but few and far between. I’m running 245/75/16 Falken Wildpeaks and aside for that and my roof basket, i’ve got next to no overland mods on my suv. There’s only two lift kits for the pilot really and...

Need help choosing my first set of AT tires!

Surprisingly ive noticed little to no road noise. Theyre about as quiet as the old tires on my pilot. I'm fairly tall so making a sleeping platform is even more of a challenge. The best decision ive made so far is to remove the second row seats completely as that opens up a whole bunch of space...

Need help choosing my first set of AT tires!

The tires didnt add any noticeable ride height differences. What it did open me up to was all sorts of other options as theres many more LT and P rated AT tires in this size. Ultimately I did go for the P rated. I really really (reeeaaalllllyy) enjoy how the tires look and how they fill out the...

Need help choosing my first set of AT tires!

Which coil overs are you gonna get? I got the 245/75/16s mounted and have been running them for about just over a week now. The only rubbing i experience is when turning and going over bumps it will hit the fender liner a bit but it’s nothing major. It has made me seriously consider the lift...

Need help choosing my first set of AT tires!

Google really is beautiful. Seems like others run 245/75/16 on their pilots with no rubbing. I’ll post an update once i get the tires mounted!

Need help choosing my first set of AT tires!

I wonder if it’s worth the risk of upsizing for a larger sidewall? especially if i don’t need to lift it yet for it to fit. Time to do some more research haha!

Need help choosing my first set of AT tires!

According to tiresize.com its 29” vs 30.5” so not a huge difference but still enough to make me wonder if they’ll fit nicely. I know a couple of people who run 245/75/16 on their pilots but they haven’t said anything about rubbing or anything.

Need help choosing my first set of AT tires!

What size of tire are you running? I’m looking at running 245/75/16 wildpeaks but i’m concerned they’ll rub. I could retain stock tire size but going up a size costs the same so i’m hoping to do that.

Need help choosing my first set of AT tires!

Do you think the weaker sidewall would be worth the risk on the trail? I’m leaning towards a P metric XL rated tire but everyone talks them up to being as strong as a balloon off road which i find hard to believe. But an LT tire is significantly more expensive and heavier and I feel I couldn’t...

Need help choosing my first set of AT tires!

I feel like i keep pushing myself towards the Wildpeaks! Great off road traction, good on road handling, and a decent price too! Have you dealt with any snow with them yet? that’s my biggest worry is how they’ll handle in the snow. Are you running the LT wildpeaks? I’m not sure if i should get...

Need help choosing my first set of AT tires!

There’s a handful of other guys that overland/softroad pilots that I know of and they run 245/75/16 tires so i’m reasonably confident I can get away with it. I could stick to the stock size but it limits my options by a fair amount unfortunately.

Need help choosing my first set of AT tires!

I took a look at the BFG Rugged Terrain T/A and a lot of the reviews say they don’t perform very well in snow or when it’s cold. How harsh are the Duratracs? I’ve been told by a couple of people before that those would be a good option for an all season all terrain tire. I’m still eyeing up...

Need help choosing my first set of AT tires!

My rig is a 2004 Honda Pilot. I’m trying to decide what my first set of AT tires should be. I’m mostly oriented towards softroading as i tend to stick to the gravel trails in the rockies here, though i do wanna attempt some slightly more technical trails in the future. My commute is all highway...

2007 Honda Pilot Off Road Build

Love your build! Currently dabbling in the same with my pilot. You say youre running 245/75/16 tires, are they LT or P rated? Are there any problems with fitment? I'm gonna order a set of Falken Wildpeak AT3W's for my 2004 Pilot and i'm unsure of if I should upsize or maintain the stock size.
