I'm a husband to a wonderful woman for 20 years. Both of us are trying to survive the teenage years with both our son and daughter. I spent my youth exploring the Mojave Desert and LA/San Bernardino National Forests in 4WD, dirt bikes, and on-foot. I learned to camp, hunt, fish, rock climb out in the SoCal wilderness.

I served as a Hospital Corpsman in the US Navy for eight years. Most of the that time forward deployed in the 7th fleet out of Yokosuka Japan. I was a combat medic, medevac flight team corpsman, and served as Leading Petty Officer of a surgical unit prior to being honorably discharged. During my time forward deployed I adventured much of the Asian Pacific countries and more than a few islands venturing as far south as Melbourne Australia and as far north as Vladivostok Russia. I managed to link up with offroad groups in most of those stops. I enjoyed my seven visits to Australia most off offroading in Land Cruisers and making some great memories and friends.

As a civilian, I have travelled the Island of La Espanola in both the Dominican Republic and Haiti from 2008-2010 and picked up my first Land Cruiser. A 1977 BJ40. We explored the island and enjoyed every minute of our time there. I have visited and explored many national parks in various states. I have done a lot of road trips that involved camping (overland?) but never anything I'd consider an "expedition". This is something I hope to remedy soon.

I plan to prep all three of my vehicles for overland, but my main focus is on my resto project on my 1968 FJ40. Once I have that one complete, I'll turn my attention to the Beater Bronco, which will most likely be my primary "overland" vehicle. For now I want to listen and learn from folks here to prepare myself and glean as much wisdom as possible from those who've gone before me.

    Thanks for having me!
