My Korean War Kitchen Cooler Addition

They work fairly well; I used them as an Army cook in the early 80s. They kept the food hot for the ride from the mess hall to the firing range, etc., at lunchtime.

I'll keep an eye out for the trip report; I'm considering doing at least part of it next year.

Overlanding Shoes (Is there such a thing :-) )

I wear these (minimalist thula thulas) everywhere, every day. I have 4 pair: short & tall of both the all leather (cold weather) and fabric sides (warm weather). Extremely comfortable, because they're custom.

    Hatchet or machete?

I think the answer to this question should start with, "Where are you going?" Machetes are good for clearing southern brush (kudzu, etc.), but not much use out west. There you need something to process larger wood, such as a saw and a hatchet or knife for batonning. I also have a WWII-era...

Thanks. That was a "Plan B". I'm going to shop for short ones now.

    Horizontal Road Shower installation?

I don't know if this is more appropriate here or in Rig Q&A. I remember seeing a video or article once about a pickup-based vehicle build that had a Road Shower installed sideways on a Front Runner rack. Does anyone know anything about this build, or what kind of hardware would work (or maybe...

    stupid question from a newbie

Good question. How: I think there's a loop at one end, so just pull the end through a hole and through the loop. Where: One of the corners. If and when: When I need to use them, if it's boggy or messy enough I may lose sight of them. I don't want the leashes flapping in the wind on top of...

    Blacked out hood

I got some matte wrap material that's dark blue, as close as I could find to my paint color. It came with cutting thread tape; it should be interesting getting it installed once the weather warms up.

    Trailer Tire Pressures?

In the course of my quest for knowledge, I have read threads about tire pressures that describe how they've aired down the vehicle tires for different conditions. So far, so good. When they say they've aired down their trailer tires as well, a large imaginary question mark appears over my...

    Under-hood Air Compressor Switch?

Has anyone installed an ARB twin air compressor under the hood, with just a local on/off switch? I'm looking at an alternative to running the switch into the dashboard. I have a couple of simple waterproof switches I got for future light installs, and thought that might work for the air as...
