Since moving from a truck to a 4Runner, space is at a minimum. Wife and I sleep on Helinox cots. They even have an XL that is wider and can hold more weight... A self-inflating mat on top of that.. wow.. best camping sleep I've had..
Yea, in the past couple days, I have decided on going with the hidden winch bumper mount. for the camp site that we frequent, I wouldn't call a winch a "requirement", but with any sort of localized and heavy rain (that can happen whenever), there are a couple spots where the mud can be bad...
EDIT:
Will be going with a hidden winch bumper, but now, the discussion turns to which winch.. The Warn Zeon 10s, or the smittybult X20 10,000

For my '16 4Runner Trail. Basic uses (avg 6-10x a year) - to make sure I get in and out of camp with the family. The trail that we...
ARB awning... water pools in the middle and causes a sag. Over some hours, starts to drip in and onto the ARB room.
Any ideas to help the water drain off other than having one corner lower than the rest? Thought about a pole in the middle to create a ridge, or at least stop the pooling?
Tembo tusk for the win.....
Possibly one of my favorite camping purchases to date.. the first time we did pop corn at camp was a win all in itself.
Only thing that may edge it out is my camp hot water setup with a 1gal/min pump... lol..
So much for saving pennies.... wife threw away the box to return the generic chair... because of the odd shaped box that it ships in, ordered another Helinox.... "because I needed the box"... it's her fault I needed to buy another one ASAP.. lol...
@Steve ... yea... like them a lot. Just need to save a bunch more pennies before I can get a 2nd one.
@timberwolf_120 ... hope you have better luck with the chair you linked... I originally bought a Helinox Sunset generic..."Sunyear" which is getting packed up and returned to Amazon..
Picked up a Helinox sunset. Tried out a generic one from Amazon, and it didn't compare... expensive, but super light, and packs basically to nothing.....
I had one of those on my Tacoma, before I got my Pelfreybuilt bumper, and sold the truck as well...
Still looking for a good one for my '16 4R. I know plenty people just use the factory welded loop, but I like overkill... been looking at the ARB one, but that thing is pricey.... lol
Played a bit with my hi-lift as a come along... yes it is work, and slow going, but will work if all else fails. Again, will only be using if alone (rare), and other things (i.e. backing out, TREDs) don't get my out
Wonder how many people don't use winches and just have a hi-lift to use as a come along...
I don't have a bumper currently, and not sure if I will be needing one. Thought about a fring hitch reciever and a hitch mounted jack, but not sure of that either.
Currently have a 60" hi-lift...
