Thanks! There seems to be an active group that meets every 2nd Monday in Irmo, think I may check that out. They are called mid carolina jeepers. And no, believe it or not even with the humidity it feels significantly nicer here! Back in OK most days has a heat index well over 100 with no breeze...
Hey everyone,
I'm new to South Carolina but not to Overland Bound. I just moved to the midlands area just West of Columbia from Oklahoma, anyone around this area?
Wow, good information for sure!
Yeah, I was looking at 3.5 inch to counter the sag but if a single rate will help with that I can back down to 2.5 or 3 inch. Currently not weighted the 2.5 lift, flat Fenders and pinch seam/ rock rail trim and 37s preforms perfectly. But looking at outfitting...
Thank you, I'm glad you brought that up. I was thinking that the dual rate would be better for a heavier load but I understand what you are saying.
Also, I had wheel spacers but still had a little rub now im running a wheel with -12 offset with 37's.
Looking for advice on upgrading the suspension on my 2 door jk. Currently I have the 2.5 AEV Dual Sport lift and have no complaints aside from the sag and occasional rubbing on the back when fully loaded (100lbs dog, 1-2 Jerry cans and basic camping gear). We're looking at adding a RTT in the...
I guess I didn't hear what happened! I haven't been before but I have heard it's better in winter since there are fewer people. And yes I think that is the park I was thinking of.
It's definitely a struggle, especially since there isn't a lot of wheeling opportunities directly around us here. I'm just north of Tulsa. I know there's an orv park in Kansas that's supposed to be pretty good but I'm not aure where it's at, we usually go over to Arkansas to the Ozarks.
Well if there was enough interest, I was thinking of finding a central location (based on the locations of whoever is interested) and having a meet and greet. There doesn't seem to be a super active offroad/overland community around and it would be nice to get something like that going.
I'm unfamiliar with those routes but Ozark Overland Adventures from YouTube shared a really good week long trip through the Ozarks in North AR. Its called the Ozark Overland Adventure Trail (OOAT). You can get it from his videos of that trip, its on Gaia. If your looking for something a little...
I have the Badlands 12k with synthetic rope on my JK. I love it! I used it most recently to pull out a 1/2 Chevy that was buried to the frame in mud, had to tie the jeep off to a tree, and it never hesitated.
Planning a trip to the Ozarks next weekend. Probably going to make the 4 hour drive Tuesday night and explore Wednesday and Thursday then head back Friday. Looking to run Devils Canyon, Alexander Mountain, Frog Bayou and a few trails in between. Anyone who wants to join is more than welcome...
Anyone planning any trips this summer in OK or AR? Hopefully the jeep will be back up and running soon and I'm looking forward to hitting some ORV parks and the Ozarks.
