Tell us about your knock off gear fails

I bought a "tactical shovel" on Amazon a few years ago. 10 in 1! The problem is, it does all 10 things very poorly, including digging. The compass barely spins, the handles come loose when using it, and a crowbar would split wood faster than the hatchet function. I was hoping it would be a...

    2019 RAV4 - The BabyYota Build Plan

Don’t forget to add recovery/safety gear to your list (ignore the rest if you have it). More boring, but drastically improves life when needed. Get a D shackle attachment for your tow hitch, Grab a combo snatch strap/toe strap from Amazon, get a first aid kit, foldable shovel, Pair of gloves...

    Tire Help

Definitely check http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/. Do a search in the R50 forum for max tire size. It has all the info on tire size, rim specs, etc. I have 31” Falken wildpeak A/T on my 1997 XE. A) it blew my mind you could do that in LA, and B) we had so much fun we basically bought the Pathy right away. The name Hermon stuck.

Thank you for the JB weld. Afton canyon water crossing

We went through the afternoon before...definitely a bit deeper than we gauged! One vehicle needs a new starter, two lost some sensors, and all of us now have that nice mildew smell. I’m hoping the clutch noise I’m getting is from low fluid and not something else... Glad you were able to get the...

Member Introductions *NEW MEMBERS INTRODUCE YOURSELF*

Hi all - I live in LA, and have been backpacking and car camping for quite a while. However, I just picked up a vehicle this summer to help access some new sites and avoid the crowds. As I finish up a few modifications on the vehicle, I'm looking forward to learning about new locations, joining...
