I own a 99 Trooper with 205,xxx miles and I'd say is that you will need to adjust the cylinder head valves because they have solid lifters instead of hydraulic ones. I rebuilt my engine when bought It cause my valve burnt through.
Not much aftermarket support is the biggest issue. They say the automatic tranys die but mine is manual so I don't worry about that.
When it comes to manual transmissions they lack internal replacement parts.
If you get one with 180+ miles you will need a head job done.
Overall I personally...
Mounted the winch in, perfect fit.
Welded some supports under the winch plate.
Using 4"x5/8 bolts to hold everything in place.
1/8" Sheet metal to cover up, was gonna go with tubing, but since the center turned out so bulky it would've looked odd.
It's still just tap welded.
Hey everyone, got a 99 Trooper here that I'm building a winch bumper for. Installed a 2" body lift recently and now building bumpers for it since the stock bumpers look awkward with a 2" gap. <br />Using 2"X2" 3/16 wall thickness that I'm going to weld into the frame to slide the bumper into...
OK, I think we got his figured out! I think I'll go with 33s for now but I'll still swap out to 4:56 anyway. For more power and for when I'll get 4:77.
Thank you guys for your help, really appreciate it.
