I just ran hose connectors to each passenger back door so I can run air to either side of the vehicle easily. I think the interchangeability is going to be nice. Next I will be working on some kind of roof rack or cross bar set up.
Here is the final product-everything fits under the rear seat and folds all the way down without issue. If I run the compressor I will have one of the seats up to make sure they don’t get too hot. The system is 150psi max, I anticipate being able to fill up tires quickly, maybe use an impact to...
I used jumper cable for my to power a relay (this is the cheapest wiring option in my opinion-get them dirt cheap at harbor freight). Got a PSI pressure switch going to the air tank so it automatically shuts off before reaching max psi and turns on when the tank gets low. Then had to go through...
Latest project is DIY on board air. I got two harbor freight compressors over time, then got a 2 gallon viair tank as a gift. I was able to hook everything up today to my relay switch panel.
To help with the added weight I put on a new Hellwig rear sway bar. This is the second Jeep I have put a Hellwig on. It is one of the best investments I have made on my Jeep. It helps out so much with on road manners it is insane:
I have put 35,000 miles on the Gladiator this year. I didn't have to go to work during the pandemic so I went on as many trips as possible. I have since bought a Suzuki DRZ 400 and have been doing a lot of enduro riding. The Jeep works as an excellent camper:
Here are the newest updates to the Jeep. I have just been doing stuff to the rack and interior (also made a load bar for the bed). I moved my switch panel to the top of the dash and added a Voswitch cell phone and tablet panel. The tablet makes long drives much nicer for the passengers.
Haven't done too much to the gladiator other than some interior mounts (pics soon to follow), but I did go on a nice snow trip last weekend. These are the mountains where I am from.
Girls gone road, rubicons are like $50-$60k. You can find gladiators in the $30’s if you look. For about $40k into mine I can get lockers that run in high gear. The problem is I don’t get the transfer case or the electronic sway bar disconnects. I am kicking myself because I bought my last...
Hi Rodger,
I will say this is probably my favorite Jeep I have owned (it is actually my 10th Jeep). The longer wheel base makes for a better highway ride. The bed makes carrying camping gear so much easier. I love trucks and jeeps so I got the best of both worlds. It is longer than a Wrangler...
The most recent thing I did was add Air Lift 100 air bags to the back of the Jeep. The rear swats some when completely loaded. I plan on upgrading the sway bar as well.
I also put synthetic winch line in to try to lighten up the front of the Jeep. This is my first time using synthetic line so we will see how it goes. It is so MUCH lighter.
