US Southwest DFW to Big Bend National Park and surrounding fun stuff

    Overlanding newbie

Thanks prerunner 1982 for the welcome and info about local events. I attended the July 26 meetup at bass pro and rsvp’d for the August event and plan to do the ok trip the end of September.

What's your latest camping gear purchase, and what caused you to buy it?

My Goal Zero 500x lithium battery stopped charging after 2 months. Just got my replacement from GZ. Runs my SnoMaster fridge and fan at night. Charge by Jeep when driving, 100w solar briefcase when camping, and electric extension cord down my driveway when home.

    Let them eat SPAM!

I buy the single serve pouches of Spam at the military commissary or Kroger. They’re great to have in the Jeep for breakfast meat, lunch sandwich, or fried rice dinner (rice comes precooked in non-perishable pouches).
