I've got the 2" Hazard Sky Lift on mine. And since this discussion is always so much fun in the KL groups, here's what you need to know:
Regardless of what you choose, the KL lifts (minus Dobinsons, I'll get to that in a moment) are all exactly the same, they just add more, or less, frills...
Mine doesn’t feel very wobbly. It’s currently sitting on 22” 1/2 EMT. I used cable and springs to make a holder for a Walmart single burner and when assembled it’s pretty stable. Cools a great steak too.
I agree that without the springs on mine it’s definitely wobbly, but once everything is...
Thanks for the maps and other info... FWIW, when I asked, at least, I forgot that the "I wouldn't recommend it" was aimed at a Subaru... I'm in a lifted Cherokee KL, I can't lift it like an XJ but I at least have 12" of clearance, sliders and skid plates ;) plus a proper rear locker, and low range.
Mine was undercoated when I bought it. So I didn't have to worry about it. BUT after seeing some things, I wonder how effective a few coats of clear plastidip would be to prevent or at least minimize scratches.

These days they're pretty much the same. But at least the AD2 and ADL drove systems are 4wd. The ADL (on the Trailhawk) also has an electronically activated locker on the rear, and does two speed (4 Hi and Low).
The 2.4L has a 56:1 crawl ratio and the 3.2L is something like 48:1.
Look them...
My get home bags all have compasses and local maps. The compass may never be used but then again, if you really need it, you don't want to be without it.
Then again, I learned orienteering as a kid, how to navigate, how to read a map (how many people today could hike using just a topo map...
Hah, and for my second ever post... ;)
W4KDH checking in. Working on putting together a 2m/440 mobile in my KL which will be the first Mobile rig I've had in years, I had been using HTs and cheap magmounts.
