Getting it done on the Cheap

Well I just found out that the XJ isn't long enough for me to sleep inside. I'm 6' and according to a few videos I watched if you take the rear seat out completely and move the passenger seat all the way forward you might be able to get 6' of room. That kind of sucks. Price is still a big plus...

Getting it done on the Cheap

Cool. My first car was a 86 CJ7. I loved it, but it would cut out when I was driving down the road. Some times it would take 5 min to get it started again, a couple times it took 2 days to get started. It also had a few teeth missing from the flywheel, so I often had to pop the clutch to turn it...

Getting it done on the Cheap

How easy is it to work on? I was pretty set on getting a 1st or 3rd gen 4Runner, but these are cheaper and like you said they are everywhere. Been watching a lot of Dirt Every Day too which you can't fight getting in a Jeep state of mind. Sent from my iPhone using OB Talk

    Arizona Overlanders

Man, wish I had a truck right now. Soon. I would definitely be interested in checking out the trail and meeting some of you guys this weekend. Any of you have an empty seat in your rig? Cuz I have a butt that would be happy to fill it. I will bring a six pack of your favorite beer. Sent from...

Anyone using Toyota 4 cylinder motors?

Ok that's what I figured. I will look into how much it takes to tow my trailers. Otherwise the rest sounds good. Thank you for the reply.

Anyone using Toyota 4 cylinder motors?

Thinking about maybe getting a 80s Toyota pickup for my daily/overland rig. How many of you use one of these trucks with a 4 cylinder motor? I hear they get decent mileage, and I imagine they are fairly simple to work on. The main thing is I'm sure it's not great for towing. I don't tow anything...

    My next Overland vehicle...

There is an old motor home I see in town all time. Not sure what it is, but the back looks like an Airstream. Big enough to stand in, but short enough that it can still be parked easily. Would make an excellent overland vehicle that you could still drive everyday with comfort. Sent from my...

DIY faucet setup for Scepter water jugs?

Looking for a simple diy faucet setup for the Scepter water jugs. I would rather not use the air compressor setup so I can also use it on river trips. I'm thinking maybe a foot pump? What ideas have you all come up with? Sent from my iPhone using OB Talk

The Search for the BEST Overland Camp Chair

I use the Woody Beach Chair from Wet Dreams river supply with a Thurmarest seat pad. Not the cheapest option, but it is comfortable and well made. I really like the flat angled back, and the seat doesn't dig into my thighs at all. My only complaint is that it is low to the ground. So it can be...

    Tacoma vs 4Runner

Kind of on the fence here. Thinking third gen 4Runner or around the same time frame Tacoma. Will be a everyday driver as well as overland. The 4Runner has the option of sleeping in the rig, but the Tacoma has the bed which obviously can be very useful. Any advantages mechanically one way or the...
