+1 on the maxtrax. I feel like they can get you out of most situations. For the cost they are usually cheaper than a winch alone. Especially cheaper than a winch and bumper setup.
I also went with a comeup 9500. I have used it a handful of times and really like it. After doing a bunch of research they seem like a really good, quality alternative to any of the bigger names out there.

I spotted @Michael or @Corrie on 580W at 11:42AM between exits Keller Ave. and Edwards Ave. We were headed Eastbound, but it was super cool to see you guys go by!
This is amazing. I am really excited for you @Bob Raff ! I'll be following your journey. I really hope to be able to do it myself one day.
Best of luck on your journey. I hope that it is smooth sailing!
Like @ExploreDesert said, the Baja Designs are amazing. I have the "combo" squadron pro and I used them out in the desert over the holiday. Amazing lighting. I felt like I didn't even need the headlights at all. Once you can really see what's going on around you it's much easier to navigate at...
That would be pretty cool! So far I only have a UHV/VHF setup in the 4Runner, and mostly for trail rides. But now that I have my call sign I'm looking forward to some CQ tests on the road.
I have been running the Baja Designs Squadron Pro Combo lights because that was the option that Shrockworks gave me when I bought my bumper.
That said, I have been extremely happy with them. I would buy more of their lights and it appears that they have quite a good reputation for quality. I'm...
I love my Benchmade Bushcrafter. I always have it with me when I am camping, wheeling, etc. . . It can handle a variety of tasks with ease and it came with a leather sheath which was a great bonus. Sheath also has a spot for a firesteel if you're into that sort of thing. I have used it for...
I have a couple of the Goal Zero Lighthouse Mini lanterns. I dig that they are LED, rechargeable, dimmable, and have a magnet on the base. I have stuck them to the side of the truck a few times for when I need some light.

I want to do this route so badly. I have been talking to a few folks about setting it up, but it does seem like the lead time is a few months of planning.
I checked out the site briefly once before and from what I remember the trail was developed for bikes, but there had been some Jeeps that...
I use a Garmin Montana 680 that was a recent upgrade from a Garmin Oregon. I like being able to add different topo maps that I may need, plotting a course from my computer and then uploading it to the GPS, and adding waypoints on the fly. I also like how if I want to get out of the truck and...
Passed my technician test on 12.2 and just got my call sign KM6WMQ assigned yesterday. Applied last night for a vanity call sign, keeping my fingers crossed. . .
I also ordered through Trail Duty and was quoted the same shipping time. I believe that in the end it was delivered week 8 or 9. I was chomping at the bit by the time it finally arrived. I think that I maybe had an anomaly experience with customer service. I called Gobi direct and had somebody...
