I got my T4 a few months ago. Only used it three or so nights so far. It was a bit interesting figuring out how I was going to haul it. Let's just say it is an RTT while traveling...lol.
Man, the Gazelle tent is amazing. Absolutely awesome. Since buying our 4 runner, my wife is having me look...
While doing the suspension of my life 2005 Honda Pilot, I found a bit of rust. Not able to repair it we ended up with a used 2020 4runner TRD off road. I swapped the tires out for some Wildpeaks. We have owned this for a week. I am already so impressed with it. I don't think we will do any mods...
Thunder,
If you are doing the technical off-road type trails, an LSD front, 2ish inch lift, and some 33s if you can. A lift and bigger tires give better articulation, ground clearance, and ride. The Gov bombs (g80) is going to do 99% of what you will probably be doing. And truth be told work...
There are some great ideas and solutions that have been posted.
I do know payload is a huge reason quite a few are going to larger rigs. They can carry more weight and get the same MPG.
My wife and I are taking our time buying our next rig (her daily driver). She loves Taco and 4runner. We...
It's not an epic trail. But, we introduced our niece and nephews to car camping and eating lunch in random spots along the road.
We went from Seattle to San Fransisco on nothing but the PCH and gravel roads (we were in our cars not SUV)
I want to point out...I love watching the folks on YouTube, modifying their rigs and doing cool trips.
I probably won't be doing a ton of mods (winch and lockers only) to our new rig (when that time comes). But those are areas I have decided I need for the type of driving I do.
But I have...
Took a little rode up to the top of a Lil mountain here close to home. We didn't camp but we took some take out and reheated. I spent the afternoon looking around the valley.
This sits in the middle of a valley. It is amazing.
A bit of snow and mud (some ice). But easy as pie.
Happy...
I love your tongue in cheek response. Lol.
Wife and I use totes in the back of her Honda Pilot for storage along with our 25+-year-old Coleman stove. Lol.
Grab your camping crap and go. That's it. Lol
Good discussion here.
I will echo the "Just go" thoughts.
.i have a 2005 Honda pilot. Good AT's a tool kit and recovery gear and camping stuff. I know her Limits and my skill level.
One day I will have a rig I can modify and do a bit more technical trails.
The best rig is the one you have.
