Not sure about the tnjt, but the pines has hundreds of miles of unpaved roads, many with known challenges like water crossings etc. It's certainly fun and much different than other forest driving you will find throughout the northeast.
Hard to predict the weather that far in advance I think. If you're ok with dealing with potential for heavy snow, ice, lots of mud after melt etc then you're ok. If you're not prepared for that then you're not going to have a good time.
