Western Virginia Roanoke Meet-up

A meet-up for the folks toward the western side of the state at the Mission BBQ in Roanoke to help us get to know each other. Everyone welcome! Bring your rig and we'll enjoy some good BBQ and hang out for a while.

  1. Would anyone be interested in a trail ride and some camping after? Anybody else have a weird schedule where they have sunday-tuesday off work?

I'm not off Monday but I'd be happy to head to camp and hang out a bit. Where are you considering going?

  2. Hey guys! We had a great meet-up! I've updated the Rally Point to reoccur, but moved it to the 2nd Sunday of each month to miss some holidays along the way.

There was some discussion about a get together later on when it's warmer to have a kind of training weekend. We have folks with a wide variety of skills that want to pass them on to others.

  3. Big thumbs up to the 2nd Sunday of each month! Was planning to come down from Harrisonburg, but had a last minute meeting that evening I wouldn’t have made it back in time for. I’m fairly new to overlanding and would love to glean knowledge from the guys who have more experience! I’m excited to get my two little guys outside and exploring more!

  4. Hey folks, at the January meet-up some of you guys mentioned being interested in Ham radio.

The Roanoke Valley Amateur Radio Club is doing free classes and tests for Technician license next month. I saw it posted on their Facebook page. If you can't find it, message me and I'll get you in touch with them for the details.
