Wendover to Lucin is 55 miles (one way). We can decide which one, or both, at meet up. Meet up is at a Sinclair gas station, exit 4 on I-80. This is about 4 miles east of Wendover. 1. For some reason it is showing the start point as Greenhaven, UT and the coordinates are probably incorrect as well. The start point is Sinclair truck stop, I-80 exit 4 north side of interstate.

  2. We will be there, I'll bring my Rally Point flag. And looks like 6 trucks including you as of right now.

Cool. Looking forward to this. I got a Coleman stove and UCO grill for Christmas and plan to bring them for a hot lunch.

  3. I’m hoping to be there. We went to Death Valley over Christmas and had some trail carnage. Snapped the rear axle. Got a used rear end assembly and got the rig home but it needs work to bring it back up to par, plus a full check up on the rig, front end is making extra noise. If I can get it all done in time I’m in.

  4. Your running a 10 bolt, right? Was it just the shaft?

Yeah the 10 bolt. The shaft broke at the spline, we never opened it up so see if there was any other damage but with the weekend and the holiday it was faster to get the axle assembly than it was to just get a new shaft, about the same cost as well.

  5. I just signed up today, and it’s looking like I’ll be coming with about 3 additional trucks. We’re coming out of SLC. When will people be leaving from the SLC area?

        1. I’m rolling out of SLC and would not mind some company on the way out. Where do you want to rally up for the drive? I was thinking something along the way might work, maybe the Tooele exit since no matter where people start in the valley we have to pass that point.

          1. That works for me. Say we leave the Chevron right off of the Tooele exit at 7:45? My group is meeting at my house in down town SLC at 7:15.

  6. Rig update. Checked the over the rig yesterday. Found a broken rear shock banging around so I need to get that replaced. Replaced the parking brake cable. I need to replace the yoke input shaft seal and a new gasket on the diff cover. Hopefully I can get it done in time to come.

Do you need a rolling toque wrench to put your yoke back on?

  8. I’m planning on coming, wife has a thing so I will have to bring my 12,10,6,4. They are potty trained [emoji23]but my crew.

Nice, I typically have my kids, 14, 10, 7 but they love it. But they won't becoming this time.

  9. Yeah I see that now, thanks. I was rushing out the door and trying to read everything at the same time. How's your truck coming along?

Haven't had a chance to work on it since Saturday. Got my shock parts coming. Should be able to repair the yoke seal in the next day or two.

  10. I have to back out this Saturday [emoji53]I need to help out with the funeral for officer Shinners in Provo. Safe travels all hope to meet up ASAP, keep them coming

Sorry to hear that, what a unfortunate and unnecessary loss. Hopefully next time you can make it.

  11. Sounds like a fun trip. I would like to come, but I can't this time. Besides being committed to something else, I haven't put my lift on yet. I'm not sure this is the best idea with stock suspension and tires!  I'm new to all of this.  I look forward to getting out with you guys and learning from you.

This shouldn't be too difficult of a run, I'm only running a 2 inch lift.

    What are you driving?

  14. Are you joining us?

I hate to say I'm still up in the air. Got my yoke and seal placed, so that leak seams to be fixed. I need to get the shock mounts straightened out to get the shock to mount. Hopefully I can get that done tomorrow so I can go.

Nice, I'll be in the air.doing front shocks tomorrow. So I'm right there with you.

  16. Run it. We have straps and I know at least 2 winches. I've ran everything from a stock 98 forester to a built 06 LJ. We won't leave you hanging.

Now I really want to come. My Daughter has an Archery Competition this weekend or I would be coming for sure. Count me in for next time!

A lot of the trails in the West Desert are doable in a stock 4×4 or even a bigger 2wd truck.  We will also schedule more get togethers to discuss trips.

  18. I’ll be making the long haul from Heber, planning on meeting up with those who are meeting in Tooele. I’ll have my 8yo and maybe my 2 teenage boys, if I can get them up in time. I’ll be in a gray LR3.

  19. So, how was it?  If you guys took any photos, I would love to see them!

I’m not a professional photographer and I don’t play one on TV, but here’s the few I got. I was a little bummed as we were driving out that it was so cloudy, but it actually turned out to have a cool effect.

  20. Hi everyone.  New member here in Utah.   How often do you guys get out together?  Would love to join the next time.

It seems like we are getting together every 3 months or so, would love to have you come out. If you want to go out you can always post up and see if anyone is interested in a trip or a day drive.

We are going to try to get together at least once a month whether it is a trip, planning, or meet and greet. Feel free to set up any type of event. I'm even up for a wrenching party. Just better have a warm garage.
