Nehalem River Crawfish Campout and River Float

We will be reserving all five walk in sites at the Henry Rierson Spruce Run CG along the Nehalem River for a 21 and Overland party and crawfish boil. There are also 34 drive in sites where others can come to camp. The event is perfect for families and the party people as there is enough distance between the campsites. We can do a forest run to explore the woods after we set our traps Saturday.

Rally Point Notes:

Since our scouting run was so successful we have decided to host a much larger gathering over the weekend before the NWOL Rally.

We will be enjoying a relaxing time by the Nehalem River over the weekend. There can be a run to the Nehalem Falls as well and this time the campground there might be open to those who wish to experience that for the second night. There is also a magical little lake that is a short drive away.

We will be bringing our swimsuits and floaties to enjoy the river. You should too! Bring your crawfish traps and some frozen chicken. The first and second nights we will be having a crawfish boil and you are welcome to grab a big plate as long as you promise not to throw the shells where the dogs will get them (in the bushes)

I have attached the campground map for Spruce Run. The sites are $20 each night and that is a maximum of 8 people and 1 extra vehicle (3 total in some spots) The walk in sites will feature a 21 and Overland party. There will be a bar, lights, music and tacos. There are 5 walk in sites for 10 vehicles total here, I am unsure how many extra would be allowed before the (possible) camp host intervened.

If there is enough interest I want to get everyone together and do a midnight float down the river complete with lights and good friends.
